Teachers’ Day is observed on September 5 each year. It is a day dedicated to teachers and the role they play in shaping the lives of their students. The day commemorates the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a scholar and Bharat Ratna recipient, who was born on this day in 1888. He served as the first Vice President of independent India (1952-1962) and as the country’s second President from 1962 to 1967. Every student’s bond with their mentors is always special, because our teachers are the ones who point us in the right direction. And Bollywood is no exception when it comes to highlighting the student-teacher bond. Several filmmakers have created films that beautifully depicted this bond over the years. Examine it out.

Super 30

Hrithik Roshan portrayed Anand Kumar, a mathematician who mentors underprivileged students in order to help them pass the prestigious IIT entrance exams, in Super 30. The film, directed by Vikas Bahl and starring Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Tripathi, received a positive response from the audience.

Taare Zameen Par

When it comes to the student-teacher bond, how can we forget Aamir Khan’s directorial debut Taare Zameen Par? It tells the story of a dyslexic child and his art teacher, who assists him in overcoming his learning disabilities. The film, which was released in 2007, received positive reviews from both critics and audiences.

Hichki

Hichki, starring Rani Mukerji, explores her efforts to connect with her students and help them overcome their own challenges. Rani played a teacher with Tourette syndrome who takes on the challenge of teaching a class of disadvantaged students.

Black

The film, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and starring Rani Mukerji and Amitabh Bachchan, received positive reviews from critics and audiences alike. The story revolves around a blind and deaf girl and her teacher, who assists her in breaking down the barriers imposed by her disabilities.

Iqbal

It is a touching film about a deaf and mute aspiring cricketer and his mentor. Naseeruddin Shah plays the teacher, guiding Shreyas Talpade’s character in his pursuit of his dream of playing for the Indian cricket team.
