Saiyami Kher expresses gratitude to R Balki for Ghoomer.
Saiyami Kher expressed her gratitude to R Balki for giving her the opportunity to play a paraplegic athlete in Ghoomer, as well as to the audience for appreciating her performance.
She recently took to Instagram to share a few images from the sets, writing in her lengthy post, “If you’d told me a few years ago that I’d wake up reading the praise that I’ve received for Ghoomer, I would never have believed you.” I didn’t believe in myself, let alone anyone else instilling it in me. It’s difficult to put into words what this film means to me.”
“I was the junglee girl who would bash up boys at school,” she continued. Who could possibly eat grilled chicken every day? Who aspired to be ambidextrous like my idol Sachin Tendulkar? Who would spend hours in my parent’s restaurant attempting to fly a Rumali roti? Whose life was centered on her grandmother. Whose prized possession was a store-purchased Indian cricket jersey. Who hoped that one day she wouldn’t have to purchase it. And that it might one day bear her name. Unfortunately, that magical moment never arrived for me.”
